Java Shrine, the folk-rock five-piece from Warrenpoint, Co Down, are reuniting to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album ‘Nothing to Declare’ on Sunday 28th December at the Skylite Room.

Formed in 1996, the group became known for their rich harmonies and distinctive brass hooks, earning a reputation that took them across Ireland, the UK, America, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, all before the social media boom, when word of mouth and live shows were everything.

Along the way, they were invited by John O’Neill of The Undertones to record a single, supported Irish rock legends Aslan, shared the stage with the renowned guitarist Tommy Emmanuel at a headline gig in Belfast, and played an incredible 23 consecutive gigs on their 2006 Scandinavian tour.

Although the members have gone their separate ways since 2007,  this anniversary show promises a joyous return to the songs and spirit that made ‘Nothing to Declare’ a fan favourite.
